What is Cross?

Cross is also a type of steel pipe fitting, which can be divided to equal and reduced. Equal cross has same diameters at the four pipe ends and and for reduced cross the diameters of main pipes are same but the diameters of branch pipes are smaller than main pipes.
Cross is a kind of pipe fitting used at the branches of a pipeline. For the cross produced by seamless steel pipes, currently the common processes are two varieties: hydraulic expansion and hot forming.
Hydraulic expansion of cross is a forming process in which branch pipes are expanded by axial compensation of steel pipes. Hot press moulding cross is to take the pipe blanks with a little bigger diameters than the cross diameter then heating and pressing them in the moulds to form crosses.

Technical Specifications
Steel pipe cross has many sizes no matter for carbon steel or stainless steel. The following information is just about their sizes.
The types of cross according to shapes
The cross is similar to tee but it only has specifications in the standard ASME B16.9. In other standards there is no technical datas about it. So generally for cross only classified two types equal and reducing.

Quality Assurance
1) Raw materials guarantee: The raw materials are purchased from large formal brand manufacturers, do chemical analysis, mechanical property testing and non-destructive testing after warehousing management.
2) Production guarantee: in the process of pipe cross production, there are many advanced inspection equipments to ensure the quality of pipe products.
3) Heat treatment 100%: It is necessary for pipe cross because the heat treatment 100% can make the density more evenly and reduce the risk of crack.
4) 100% inspection: Before delivery, we will do several testing items to guarantee the quality of cross, such as size, hardness, ovality, diameter, wall thickness, length, coating, etc, as well as DNT inspection and Mechanical testing according to the specification and standards.
