Pipe Reducer manufacturer & supplier in China: control Fluid velocity and pressure.

Pipe reducer can connect two pipes with the same diameters, as well as two different diameter pipes to achieve transitions from a large pipe to a smaller one (and vice versa), which will be help pipelines to control the fluid velocity and pressure.

  • Good Sealing Performance

  • Improve the safety and stably of the piping systems

  • Connect two pipes with the same or different diameters

  • Can meet the transmission requirements of various fluid media

What is Reducer?

Pipe reducer is one type of pipe fitting which plays a vital role in pipeline systems. It allows the pipe size to change from a big bore to a smaller one, which can help control fluid velocity and pressure. It also helps to connect two pipes with varying diameters, facilitating versatility in pipeline design and installation. The main types of reducer are concentric and eccentric reducer two kinds. Both of them can achieve transitions from a larger pipe to a smaller one ( and vice versa).

The pipe reducer is commonly used in the demanding environments of chemical and power plants. It provides a highly reliable, sturdy and tight integral line system, and remains unaffected by shock, vibration or thermal deformation. Secondly, It is very easy to install and also prevents leakages while on a pressure cycle.

The pipe reducer is available in a range of materials depending on the end use of the products. It can be made of carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel and more. Among them, carbon steel pipe reducer is the most commonly used because its price is cheaper, and has the advantages of high-pressure resistance, higher strength and wear resistance. However, it is easy to be corroded.

Applications

  • Natural gas pipeline

  • Oil pipeline

  • Chemical Pipeline

  • HVAC Piping

Technical Specifications

Pipe reducers have many sizes no matter for carbon steel or stainless steel. The following information is just about their sizes and tolerances.

The major types of pipe reducer

Concentric pipe reducer

A concentric pipe reducer has a common center line that is used to connect pipe sections on the same axis. It can provide a smooth and gradual transition of fluid flow from a larger pipe to a smaller one. And it is widely used for pipes when there are single or multiple diameter changes.

Eccentric pipe reducer

An eccentric pipe reducer is asymmetrical about the center line, with one end of the fitting offset from the other, creating an off-center transition. It must be installed straight side up to connect different size pipes. And it can prevent air or gas accumulation in pipes.

Materials types of pipe reducer

Carbon steel pipe reducer

Carbon steel pipe reducer is manufactured from black carbon steel, used for middle and low pipelines normal temperature. The common materials standards and grades refer to A234 WPB / WPC, ASTM A105 / A106 / A53, API 5L GR.B, A420 WPL6, MSS-SP-75 WPHY 42 to 70.

Stainless steel pipe reducer

Stainless steel pipe reducer is made of high quality stainless steel material with excellent corrosion resistance. It is mainly used in the pipelines of corrosion fluid. The common materials refer to ASTM A403 WP 304, 304L, A403, 316, 316L, 316Ti, 317, 317L, 321, 310S and 904L, etc.

Alloy steel pipe reducer

Alloy steel pipe reducer is made of high quality alloy steel, which is used for the pipelines taken at high temperature and high pressure. It has the feature of high strength. The common materials refer to ASTM A234 WP1, WP5, WP9, WP11, WP12 WP22, WP91 etc.

Connection types of pipe reducer

Butt Weld Reducer

Butt weld pipe reducer is the most common type of connection. It is suitable for high pressure, high temperature and poor service conditions, due to its good strength and stress state. Manufacturing standards comply with ASME B16.9, and welding process according ASME B16.25.

Socket Weld Reducer

Socket weld reducer is a kind of pipe connection in which the pipe is directly inserted into the pipe fitting. Manufacturing standards comply with ASME B16.11. The Socket Weld resists ½ of the strength of butt welding, so it is usually used for small diameter pipes of 2 inches or less.

Screwed Reducer

Screwed reducer is available only in concentric type and coupling form, having one end to fit larger pipes and other end to fit smaller pipes. ASME B16.11 is an applicable dimensional standard. Material standards including pressure ratings are the same as of the threaded elbows.

Pipe Reducer Quality Assurance

1) Raw materials guarantee: All raw material are purchased from the large formal manufacturers , and we will do material chemical analysis and inspection. If the testing result is qualified, the raw materials will be entered pipe reducer production. Otherwise, the raw materials will be return to the suppliers.

2) Technology guarantee: Strictly in accordance with the production standards, professional technical team and advanced production technology to ensure product quality, and make the greatest efforts to maximize the benefits for customers.

3) Heat treatment: Pipe reducer is made of high strength steel, so in the molding process, its surface defects (crack sources) are easy to cracks due to stress concentration. Therefore, in order to reduce the risk of cracks and get better mechanical properties, the pipe reducer must be heat treated.

4) 100% inspection: Before delivery, the pipe reducer will do many testing items, including size, diameter, wall thickness, eccentricity, DIN inspection, Mechanical testing, etc. All of these testing items are according to the specification standards.
